Who we are
Collectors is built and run by an independent team. The idea came from a simple observation: great places, great shops, great products always get drowned out by the algorithmic noise. We wanted somewhere to set them on a quiet shelf — curated by hand — and let people browse slowly.
The platform combines invitation-style growth with human moderation. Every new TOP_PICK topic is reviewed by an admin before going live, to keep quality and tone consistent.
What we don't do
No algorithmic feed — what you see is ordered by time or popularity, not by a recommendation engine.
No paid placement — there is no "top up to VIP and pin your post" trick. Honesty is a baseline.
No virality metrics — we don't chase DAU, we don't optimize for viral coefficient. The people who stay are what makes a community.
No ad profiling — we will never use your browsing history to sell you to advertisers.
How it works
Three core features:
1. Share a pick — Place / Shop / Product, with images, source link, and your thoughts.
2. Your #1 Pick (TOP_PICK) — A creator starts a topic (e.g. "Best ramen in Tokyo"). Other users must comment to unlock everyone else's answers; once unlocked, they can submit their own #1. Every TOP_PICK topic is reviewed by an admin before going live.
3. Follows & notifications — Follow collectors and shelves you like; get an email when there's something new (no spam, easy to turn off).
Our promise to you
Slow work, no harassment, privacy first.
Your content is always yours. When you want to delete your account, we will clean up within 14 days.
