Data Deletion Request

You have the right to request deletion of your account and data at any time. This page explains how, what happens, and what cannot be deleted.

Last updated: 2026-05-07

What you can do yourself

Individual content: under Settings → My Collection, you can delete individual posts / comments / shelves. Effective immediately.

Disable notifications: under Settings → Notifications, you can turn off email notifications. Effective immediately.

Deactivate (soft delete): from OnceAccount center, you can deactivate temporarily; while deactivated, your posts are not public, and you can come back anytime.

Full deletion: see the next section.

Submitting a full deletion request

Email us from your registered address (see the support email in the footer). Subject: "Data deletion request — {your display name}". The body should include:

• Your OnceKeeper account public_id (last segment of your profile URL) • A confirmation: "I want to permanently delete my OnceKeeper account and data" • A preferred processing date (optional; defaults to ASAP)

To prevent mistakes / impersonation, we send one confirmation email and only execute after you reply. Within 14 days of your confirmation we will complete the deletion.

What we will delete

Your account row, profile data, posts, comments, TOP_PICK answers, shelves, follows, like history, uploaded images, avatar, traffic tracking records, notification records.

Mail delivery logs related to your account (who sent what to you) are auto-purged after 90 days under the standard retention period.

What cannot be deleted

Comments others wrote about you: kept (treated as someone else's content; report individually if harassing).

Quotes / screenshots of your content on other sites: outside our control; please contact those parties / sites directly.

Search engine cache: Google and similar may briefly retain cached pages after your deletion, usually clearing within 1–4 weeks. You can submit a removal request to Google Search Console to speed it up.

Audit log (admin moderation records): retained for 1 year as required by law; contains only timestamp + account ID + action, no content.

Backup system: backups within the last 30 days may still contain your data; once auto-purged, they cannot be restored.

Refusal cases & appeals

In rare cases we may not delete immediately — for example, if your account is involved in an open report / appeal / legal investigation. We will explain in our reply and give an expected processing date.

If you disagree with the refusal or the result, you can appeal within 30 days for a second review.

All deletion-related records (your request + our execution) are retained for 1 year for audit purposes.
